The implementation of Community-Based Surveillance is essential for early detection and rapid response to emerging diseases and public health events. Community-Based Surveillance enables community members to systematically capture and report diseases and events of public health importance. This system is based on the capacity of Multipurpose Community Health Workers to identify and report Public Health problems to health authorities. It integrates both Indicator-Based Surveillance (IBS) and Event-Based Surveillance (EBS) methods.
